When my wife first brought up the idea of switching to reusable baby wipes near the end of my paternity leave, I’ll be completely honest, I was very skeptical. But after 10 months of daily dad use, here is my honest Cheeky Wipes review.
My wife wanted to try eco-reusable nappies and the Cheeky Wipes Premium All-In-One Kit.
Part of it was environmental. A standard disposable nappy takes anywhere between 300 to 500 years to decompose in landfill.
But her main goal was finding something gentler on our daughter’s skin.
At the time, all I could think was: This sounds like hard work.

Here is my honest opinion ten months on.

Our Changing Table & Travel Setup
We keep our changing routine strictly organized in the drawer directly below our changing table:
- Fresh on the Left, Dirty on the Right: Fresh, damp wipes sit in their tub on the left; the mucky tub sits on the right.
- The Muslin Hack: I always keep a dry muslin cloth on hand. I use it to dry my own damp hands and to pat baby’s bum completely dry before putting a fresh nappy on.
Going Out & Travel
When we leave the house, we grab 5 or 6 fresh wipes and pop them into the wet/fresh travel bag, along with the dirty travel bag for used ones.
I’m not going to pretend Cheeky Wipes have completely eliminated disposables from our lives.
We still keep a back-up packet of disposable wipes in the pram bag just in case of emergency, but we hardly go through them anymore, and our daughter’s skin is much better for it.
We Even Bought a Second Set for the Kitchen
They worked so well for nappy changes that we bought a second, dedicated set of reusable wipes specifically for her face and hands after mealtimes.
We keep 10 grey wipes and 2 travel bags in the kitchen to clean up after breakfast and dinner.
It saves lots kitchen roll and stops her face from getting red and sore.

If you’re skeptical about reusable gear like I was, start with Cheeky Wipes.
You don’t need to commit to full cloth nappies to make a huge difference to your wallet and your baby’s skin.
