This isn’t a review.
This isn’t a helpful “5 tips to fix sleep” post.
I normally try and do a bit of SEO for these posts, but this is none of that.
This is just me venting.
10 month sleep regression is awful
I. Am. So. Tired.
What’s even more annoying is that she’s being amazing during the day.
Our daughter has changed so much in the past month.
She’s gone from a baby who just sat there when you put her down on the floor to an absolute speed demon.
She’s flying around crawling, cruising on the furniture, and she’s even squatting down to pick stuff up off the rug.
Walking has gone from being a pipe dream that felt months away to something that’s only weeks, maybe even days away.
And it’s not just the physical stuff either.
She’s starting to do things on purpose:
- She can all of a sudden point at things she wants.
- She shouts “Ah!” when she wants our attention.
- She actually goes “Woof!” whenever she sees the dog.
- Her babbling is becoming way more varied.
- She can throw things, and if I roll a ball to her, she can roll it right back to me.
She’s becoming so curious and constantly wants to see what we’re doing.
All of a sudden, she’s turning into a little person, way more than just a baby.
BUT WHY WON’T SHE SLEEP?!
We’ve tried giving her less daytime sleep.
We’ve tried giving her more daytime sleep.
We’ve tried moving her bedtime later.
Nothing works.
She’s up every 2 to 3 hours at the moment.
And it’s not just a quick shout for a feed or a soft cuddle either.
It’s full-on shouting.
If she could talk, she’d be screaming:
“DAD I WANT TO GET UP NOW I WANT TO PRACTICE ALL THE COOL THINGS I CAN DO NO I DON’T WANT TO GO BACK TO SLEEP DON’T MAKE ME NO!”
(Probably with a few curse words thrown in for good measure).
She’s not even teething, so Calpol isn’t doing anything.
Feeding her more? Also not working.
That’s why we’re convinced it’s the 10 month sleep regression because we’ve tried ALL the things.
And nothing makes a dent at the mo. I’m out of ideas.
I guess we just have to ride this one out.
Pass the coffee, and I’ll see you on the other side.
